Porcelain Veneers are thin, tooth coloured shells that are custom made and bonded to the front surface of your teeth. This procedure requires only a minimal amount of tooth shaping. They are excellent for treating chipped, discoloured or misshaped front teeth, and ideal for improving shape, length, size and tooth colour.

It is important that the patient’s underlying tooth is strong, healthy and not heavily filled. Once placed, the Veneers are very strong and will resist most of the forces placed upon them by a normal diet. Porcelain veneers are made to match the colour of your teeth.

Dr David Edwards or Dr Rand Razaq will remove a small amount of enamel from the front of your tooth. A mould is taken, and sent to a dental technician who makes the veneer. When the veneer is ready, our dentists then apply a resin to bond it to your tooth. The treatment is quick and requires little or no anaesthesia.

Give your teeth a fresh, vibrant new look with Veneers.

Getting a second opinion on a dental problem is sometimes the most important decision a person can make.

In some situations, it is the dentist who requests a second opinion from a dental specialist in order to obtain additional information about a dental problem. Second opinions are important because they may confirm, refute or clarify the situation.

A second opinion may reveal simpler, less expensive or more effective treatment options.

At Balmoral Dental Centre Dr David Edwards and Dr Rand Razaq are happy to give their professional opinion and advise, they do not charge for this service.

If you are on a benefit, pension or student allowance you may be entitled to financial assistance from WINZ for URGENT dental treatment. You will need to contact your case manager or WINZ office to see if you may be eligible for emergency dental assistance.

If eligible you may call Balmoral Dental Centre and arrange an appointment to see either Dr David Edwards or Dr Rand Razaq for an estimate of costs for your emergency dental work. The cost of this visit is free which has been added to your WINZ estimate. You will then take this form to WINZ for approval. If approved they will give you a purchase authority, which you return to us and then we can carry out your treatment. There is a current limit of $300 non recoverable, but you can sometimes apply for more on a loan system. They also have the ability to help with funding for dentures.
